The Beatles Are Back!

On September 9th, 2009, The Beatles will release their re-mastered catalog of songs and Beatles-Themed “Rock Band”.  To commemorate the occassion, USA Today will feature a commemorative pullout in Friday’s print edition.  The paper featured seven design ideas and allowed the public to vote for their favorite.  Susan Parker won the vote with 29%.

  • Beatles inspiration: Parker describes herself as “one of the original Beatlemaniacs” who attended the Fab Four’s first D.C. concert on Feb. 11, 1964. Their early days are her favorite, but “the style I’m working in is kind of an uptake on what I’m seeing the young kids do today.”
